Weezer versionan ahora a The Cars para una banda sonora

Coloristas y energéticos, los mozos de Weezer jamás pierden sus ganas de hacernos brincar. Esto mismo se ha vuelto a comprobar con la cover de ‘You Might Think’ de The Cars que la gran banda de rock alternativo han grabado para la banda sonora de Cars 2, secuela de la divertida película de animación de los estudios Pixar.

Para una época como la veraniega (que por culpa del mal tiempo aún está por llegar) esta canción nos va a ir perfecta para cualquier tipo de fiesta, pachanga, etc. que decidamos montar con nuestros amigos. Aún y así, Weezer no solo han querido una canción divertida, sino que han pretendido rendir un pequeño homenaje a uno de sus paises favoritos. “Esta canción sonará en la escena en la que Lightning McQueen y Mater van a Japón.” – comentaba Brian Bell en un comunicado de prensa. “Esa coincidencia es perfecta ya que el tema refleja las experiencias que hemos tenido en ese país – vivimos algo de shock cultural“.

Quizás para muchos el uso de este tema como tributo suene algo raro, pero es innegable que la versión ‘You Might Think’ es un rato viva. Otra cosa es que la canción sea mejor que la original. En eso si que no coincidimos.
