Axels & Sockets marca la última entrega de las Jeffrey Lee Pierce Sessions que celebra el legado del fallecido líder de The Gun Club importante banda de la escena punk de Los Ángeles. A día de hoy esta organización lo llevan amigos del desaparecido y tiene el fin de mantener vivo el legado del líder de The Gun Club. En esta oportunidad podemos escuchar podemos escuchar una de las colaboraciones más grandes a día de hoy como esta que une a tres iconos como son Iggy Pop, Nick Cave y Thurston Moore, versionando Nobody’s City, tema del Mother Juno último LP de estudio de The Gun Club. Pero no son los únicos que participan en el tributo ya que el line up es de lujo con nombres como Debbie Harry, Primal Scream, Mark Lanegan, Warren Ellis, Gallon Drunk’s James Johnston, Lydia Lunch, Mick Harvey, Kid Congo Powers, Mark Stewart, Hugo Race, Black Moth, Honey, Crippled Black Phoenix y Andrew Weatherall.
